    Our Purpose
The Breast Clinic strives to increase awareness about breast cancer through education and early detection. In addition to providing comprehensive diagnostic services on site, the Breast Clinic sponsors a mobile mammography unit, which travels to remote, under-served areas to provide screenings and information about the disease. The Breast Clinic also offers breast health programs to the community and businesses free of charge.
    Diagnostic Procedures
Osteoporosis is a disease that affects the quantity and quality of your bones. It is a debilitating condition in which bones become fragile and much easier to break. Although there can be outward signs such as a forward curving of the neck and spine or a decrease in height, someone suffering from osteoporosis usually has no symptoms until a break occurs.
Fibrocystic Breast Disease is characterized by nonmalignant lumps and/or pain in the breast.
More women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer every year than with any other cancer except skin cancer. Many lives can be saved by early diagnosis.
The stereotactically guided breast biopsy uses computer technology that enables doctors to locate and obtain a sample of the precise center of the area in question.
An ultrasound scan detects breast changes by sending high-frequency sound waves into the breast.
A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast. It is the best way to reveal tumors that are too small to be felt. Mammograms can also show other changes in the breast that doctors believe may suggest cancer.
    Getting Regular Mammograms
Doctors recommend routine mammograms because they are the best tools for finding breast cancer early, and early detection is the best weapon for fighting breast cancer. Regular mammograms, along with routine breast exams by a healthcare professional, and monthly breast self-exams can reduce deaths from breast cancer among women age 40 or older. While this is true, remember that mammography is not 100% perfect. Beginning at age 40, you should have a mammogram annually.
